Test automation pays off when repetition, traceability, or coverage matters more than manual flexibility.
- Log raw measurement values, not only pass/fail
- Store firmware revision, fixture revision, and test recipe version
- Keep timestamps and environmental context when drift matters
- Make reruns reproducible from the record
If the test result cannot be interpreted six months later, the logging is too thin.
