Build and CI failures are usually systematic, which is good news if the thread starts with disciplined information.
- Toolchain version and target triplet
- Generator, CMake version, and exact configure command
- Whether the failure is compile, link, package, or deploy
- Whether the issue reproduces locally and in CI
- What changed immediately before the failure appeared
Post the first meaningful error, not just the last red line in the log. Linker errors in particular are often explained twenty lines earlier.
